SPORTS MEDICINE
Sports Medicine involves treatment of acute (new) and chronic (old) injuries. A sports medicine physician is an expert in diagnosing and treating musculoskeletal conditions. Treatments often include oral medications therapy, injection therapy, physical therapy and regenerative medicine techniques. Athletes and non-athletes alike are treated by sports medicine physicians.

JOINT AND SOFT TISSUE INJECTIONS
Dr. Burns performs all types of injections, including large and small joints, tendons and muscles. Common injection sites include the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, ankle and foot. Injections are used in conjunction with other treatments to help speed the healing process of acute injuries, and reduce pain in chronic injuries (arthritis).
