What types of conditions do you treat?
Dr. Burns treats a broad range of conditions, non-surgically, ranging from sports injuries, including, but not limited to, injuries of the bones, joints, muscles and tendons. Dr. Burns focuses on treatment of acute (or new) conditions, however, he also treats some chronic conditions with specific therapies.
Are you a surgeon?
No. Dr. Burns is not a surgeon. Dr. Burns specializes in the treatment of non-surgical general orthopedics, sports medicine and performing arts medicine related conditions. Through comprehensive care, the hope is to prevent the need for surgery. If needed, Dr. Burns works with a highly skilled, highly rated team of orthopedic surgeons and can help coordinate your care.
Do you treat Chronic Pain?
Maybe. Dr. Burns does not prescribe narcotic medications. When in doubt, make an appointment to learn more.
Do I need to be an athlete to be seen?
No. Dr. Burns treats athletes and non-athletes alike.
Does my injury need to be sports related?
No. Injuries can occur in all facets of life. Dr. Burns will treat your injury no matter the cause.
Do I need a referral to be seen?
In many case, no. Check with your specific insurance company to be certain.

What should I bring to my appointment?
You will need your insurance card, valid ID (diver's license), list of current medications, list of past medical problems and any prior imaging (x-ray, MRI, etc.).
